Idan Menin is an accomplished cinematographer, known for his expressive and heightened naturalism in lighting and lensing. Menin's recent work spans both independent and studio productions. He served as cinematographer on Lost on a Mountain in Maine, produced by Sylvester Stallone's Balboa Productions and directed by Andrew Kightlinger, released in theaters nationwide in November 2024.
He has since shot Six till Midnight for producer Timur Bekmambetov, set for release later this year, and contributed additional photography on Onslaught — cinematographer Oren Soffer's collaboration with director Adam Wingard for A24, also releasing later this year. Most recently, Menin wrapped principal photography in New Jersey on an independent feature starring John Leguizamo, directed by David Baram.
In addition to Idan’s narrative projects, his diverse portfolio includes commercials for top brands such as Estée Lauder, Porsche, Bud Light, Starbucks, and Ford, as well as music videos for artists including Twenty One Pilots, Imagine Dragons, Lil Nas X, J. Balvin, and will.i.am. Menin's versatility and his commitment to creating compelling, empathetic stories are evident across his body of work. His cinematography emphasizes authentic human experiences, regardless of medium.
Menin studied at the Florida State College of Motion Picture Arts, where he honed his technical skills and developed his unique artistic voice under Amy Vincent ASC. He later extended his education under the legendary cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond ASC at the Global Cinematography Institute, further refining his craft.
Raised between Queens, NY, and Belgium, Menin brings a multicultural perspective to his work, blending his love of film, music, and backcountry camping. When he's not behind the camera, he draws inspiration from his travels and photography, infusing his diverse experiences into his projects. His dedication to capturing the human experience with authenticity makes him a standout talent in both the commercial and film industries.
